Mayer Page had a lifetime role assisting individuals and charities, especially suicide prevention. He graduated from the University of Melbourne with a commerce degree, and became a highly successful businessman, rising to joint ownership of both Australian Pacific Tours and AAT Kings. He was
involved for many years with Brighton Rotary, and had many hobbies, especially his love of sailing. He was a shrewd mentor to many grateful friends and colleagues, and was the prime motivator in establishing the Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation as a formally recognised charity.
The Australian Suicide Prevention Foundation is a government-recognized harm prevention charity, confirming we operate at the highest ethical and financial levels. All donations are tax deductible.
Our services began operations in 1997, providing a free telephone information service about suicide prevention all over Australia. This service continues in all 55 Australian telephone directories as 1800 HOLDON.
Around the year 2000, the websites www.suicideprevention.com.au and www.aftersuicide.com.au were developed. www.suicideprevention.com.au was significantly upgraded in late 2008.
